Although our Vavuniya UC is functioning with the aim of development and public service to general public under the units of Administration, Finance, Technology, Health etc., Above all, It provides a very important service which goes directly to general public.

As Vavuniya is an important central city which joins other districts to Northern Province, put forward proposals for important needs of Vavuniya UC. Those needs were accepted and a Fire Engine, Ambulance and a Water Bowser were given to UC by Provincial Council and Local Government. Though this material needs are fulfilled, there are no special building and Fire brigade for this Fire Engine. There are two ordinary drivers and UC labors function as Fire brigade.
